Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana governments have declared 12 February 2025 a public holiday on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti. Under this decision, all government offices, schools, autonomous bodies (Autonomous Body) and Public undertakings (PSUs) of these states will remain closed.

Which cities will remain holiday?

After this decision of the government, schools and government offices will be completely closed in all major cities of these states including Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad. This holiday has been declared with the objective of giving people an opportunity to participate in the celebration of Guru Ravidas Jayanti.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena confirmed this decision through an official circular. Previously, the proposed limited holiday in November 2024 has now been converted into full public holiday. The government has taken this step keeping this step in mind the importance of Guru Ravidas Jayanti and participation of the people.

Importance of Guru Ravidas Jayanti

Guru Ravidas Jayanti is celebrated in memory of the 15th century great saint, social reformer and devotional poet Guru Ravidas. He gave the message of social equality, brotherhood and justice, which is still inspiring to the people.

However, despite this public holiday, health services, emergency services and other essential public facilities will be employed in general.

Due to this holiday, people will get relief from traffic and office work, so that they will be able to celebrate this important opportunity with full devotion and devotion.
