Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor: A Revolutionary Scheme
The journey between Haryana and Uttar Pradesh is going to be easier now. The process of construction of the Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor has been expedited. The project will prove to be helpful in the development of Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad and surrounding industrial areas. Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Meerut and Gautam Buddha Nagar will be part of the project in Uttar Pradesh.
This corridor will provide an alternative route for freight trains, which will reduce congestion in Delhi-NCR and will benefit the industries.
Delhi-NCR’s transport network will be strong
This project will not be limited to goods transport only. The public transport system will also benefit from this. This corridor will connect Noida, Greater Noida and other major cities, which will make the journey fast and easier.
Its construction will also boost industrial development in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR. This project will reduce the problem of traffic jam and reduce pollution.
This railway corridor will be 135 km long
- The total length of the Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor will be 135 km.
- This corridor will eliminate freight trains needed to enter the Delhi-NCR, which will reduce the pressure on Delhi’s traffic system.
Uttar Pradesh will include an area of 90 km
The entire route of 135 km of the corridor will be 90 km in Uttar Pradesh and 45 km will be in Haryana. This will directly benefit many big cities and industrial areas of UP.

Project will be completed by 2030
The Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor is targeted to be completed by 2030. The responsibility of creating feasibility report of this project has been entrusted to Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA).
The completion of this will reduce Delhi-NCR roads and railway network pressure, traffic jams will decrease and pollution will decrease.

A major objective of this project is to strengthen industrial and business activities. It will be linked to various other important projects, including:

Proposed alignment and station
Special alignment has been prepared for the construction of the Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor, in which:
- 8 railway lines will be crossed.
- The 3 RRTs (Regional Rapid Transit System) Route will be included.
- The Yamuna River will be crossed at two places.
- Hindon River will be crossed at one place.
- 10 National Highways and Expressway will come on this route.
- Two platforms will be built in Muradnagar and Dasna.
18 major stations will be included

- 6 halt stations will be built.
