Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Officials of Enforcement Directorate (ED) have applied in court to take Saurabh Sharma, Chetan Singh Gaur and Sharad Jaiswal on remand, officials said here on Monday. The three are in judicial remand and they are in Bhopal Central Jail. The ED had questioned all the three last week, but now they want them on remand.
An application has been filed for production warrant in ED court. Hearing will be held on Tuesday in the presence of all the three. ED wants to question them by taking them into custody. The court will hear the case on Tuesday.
During hearing, Saurabh, Chetan and Sharad will be presented in the Court and they will be brought from jail custody. ED gets remand from the court on production warrant and all three will be interrogated by taking them into custody.
ED had interrogated all three in jail after taking permission from the special court of Prevention of Corruption Act. All three were interrogated separately for about six hours each. Apart from Chetan and Sharad, Saurabh himself was questioned about his undeclared assets.
It is claimed that all three have given rhetorical answers. The question is about 54 kg gold and Rs 11 crore cash found in the car the day after Lokayukta raid. During interrogation, all three clearly said that the gold and cash were not theirs.
The gold was found in Chetan Singh Gaur’s car. Chetan has told all investigating agencies in their interrogation that the car was being used by Saurabh and his office employees. After ED interrogation is over, the Income Tax (I-T) Department will also interrogate them after taking permission from the Court.
