New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the online registration process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG 2025). Interested candidates can apply by visiting the official website neet.nta.nic.in. The last date for application has been fixed on March 07, 2025.
If you are planning to appear in NEET UG 2025, then definitely know these 5 important updates related to the exam before registration.
1. There will be a chance of correction in the application form
After the NEET UG 2025 application process is over, NTA will give candidates a chance to application correction.
- The correction window will open on March 09, 2025.
- Candidates can improve their application by March 11, 2025.
- During this time only changes in the prescribed section will be allowed.
- No request will be accepted after the last date of correction.
Tip: Fill all the details carefully while applying so that correction is not required.
2. Change in the duration of the exam
This year a major change has been made in the pattern of NEET UG 2025 exam.
- Now the duration of the exam will be only 3 hours.
- Earlier, candidates used to get 3 hours 20 minutes, but now 20 minutes have been reduced.
- Candidates must make a strategy to effectively solve the question in a short time.
Tip: Pay attention to time management and practice with the help of mock test.
3. Registration from Aadhaar card not mandatory
It was earlier announced that the Aadhaar ID would be mandatory while registering for NEET UG 2025, but NTA later removed the imperative.
- Candidates will not be compulsory to register with Aadhaar card.
- Interested candidates can use any valid identity card (such as passport, driving license, PAN card, Voter ID, School ID etc.).
Tip: Use the correct and valid ID proof when filling the application.
4. Minimum age limit for application
The age of the candidates applying for NEET UG 2025 should be at least 17 years by December 31, 2025.
- Candidates below 17 years of age will not be considered eligible for the examination.
- NTA has not implemented any strict rules regarding the maximum age limit, but up to 25 years of age is considered appropriate for general category candidates.
- Candidates of reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) are given 5 years discount in age limit.
