The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) organized a grand reception for the men’s team at the newly-renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore as Mohammad Rizwan and co. unveiled their kit for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. In a video surfaced on social media, Pakistan cricketers were seen taking off their jacket to unveil the brand new jersey standing on the stage.
To mark the occasion, the PCB also released a one-minute video, featuring the likes of Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and women’s cricketers Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana. The Champions Trophy is arguably a special occasion for the nation as they are all set to host their first ICC event since the 1996 World Cup. On February 7, Friday, the ICC also released the official theme song for the event as Atif Aslam was seen grooving and dancing.

Pakistan, meanwhile, will start as the defending champions ahead of the 2025 edition, having sealed their first title in 2017 by defeating arch-rivals in the final in London. The Men in Green, captained by Sarfaraz Ahmed, amassed 338 in the final, spearheaded by Fakhar Zaman’s hundred. Later, fiery spells from Mohammad Amir and Hasan Ali ensured that India got nowhere close to the target.
Pakistan will start the tournament against New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi. However, their preparations will get underway on February 9 with a tri-series against South Africa and New Zealand.
