There is a big and important news for Uttar Pradesh. 240 km long railway line is going to be built, which will ease traffic and will also boost economic and industrial development.

Land acquisition work started

The process of land acquisition for the construction of Bahraich-Uratula-Khalilabad railway line has started.

  • A gazette for land acquisition has been issued in Bahraich district.
  • No official order has been received regarding the construction of railway line in Balrampur.
  • In 2014, the survey budget for this project was released.
  • This year, Rs 620 crore has been allocated for the construction of 80 km railway track of Bahraich-Shravasti-Balrampur.

Acquisition of farmers’ land in 53 villages

Under this railway project, land will be acquired in 53 villages of Balrampur district.

  • There is restlessness among the farmers about this process.
  • Stones have been put in the fields, so that the process of laying the rail tracks can start.
  • Many farmers are waiting for administrative action and appropriate compensation.
  • Farmers are concerned that if the land acquisition starts before harvesting, their crops may be ruined.

32 new railway stations plan

A total of 32 railway stations have been proposed from Bahraich to Khalilabad.

  • Six new stations will be built in these.
  • Ten new stations are proposed in Shravasti and Bahraich.
  • Major railway stations include:
    • Shravasti, Ekona, Bahraich, Ajtapur, Dhuswa, Bredara, Hariharpur Rani, Bhinaga, Vishunapur, Ramnagar, Laxmanupar Gorpurwa.

Balrampur will get junction status

  • The railway line will be extended from Bhagwatiganj railway station of Balrampur to Uttaraula.
  • Balrampur railway station will be converted into a junction station.
  • Halt stations will be built from Khagaijot of Sadar development block to Maheshbhari village.
  • Railway stations will also be set up at Sridattganj and Utraula.
  • Halt station will be built in Kapauwa Sherpur.

Land acquisition process for railway line

  • A 40 feet width will be acquired for laying the railway tracks.
  • 100 meters wide land will be acquired for station construction.
