Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet had approved the creation of 12 new smart industrial cities across the country last year, including the Jodhpur-Pali Marwar Node of Rajasthan. According to reports, this industrial city to be built in Jodhpur will be spread over 1578 acres and its development will cost an estimated cost of Rs 922 crore.
Industrial investment will be up to Rs 7500 crore
After the development of the industrial city, industrial investment of Rs 7500 crore will be possible in Rajasthan. As a result:
- 40,000 people will get direct employment.
- About 2 lakh people will get indirect employment opportunities.
Which areas will affect?
According to reports, the construction of this industrial city will have a special impact on textile, handicraft and agro industry of western Rajasthan. The project will help in bringing local industries to new heights.
Jodhpur node will be part of industrial necklace
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said about the project that 12 new industrial city projects will be developed as ‘Industrial Necklace’, in which Jodhpur-Pali Marwar Node will also be an important part.
The exact location of 12 nodes was not clear before
When the government introduced this scheme, the exact location of 12 industrial nodes was not clarified. However, the selection of Jodhpur-Pali node was being almost fixed due to proximity to Railways’ Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) and Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
