Ankara: On February 6, 2023, a fierce earthquake of 7.8 magnitude occurred in southern Türkiye. Then almost as much powerful earthquake occurred. Even after this, earthquake tremors continued for a long time. As a result, many houses in southern Türkiye collapsed or were badly damaged. As a result, many people were forced to leave their homes out. 53,000 people were killed in the earthquake, while 6,000 people were killed in southern Syria.

It was the worst disaster in Türkiye in decades.

Regarding this, 51 -year -old electrician Ayadin said, “The earthquake still resonates in my ears.” The fear is still not gone by my mind. The voices of the collapsing buildings, the defense screams, the defense screams are still echoing in our ears.

Ayadin lives in a steamer container with his mother and 3 children. Criticizing the government’s neglect of earthquake victims, he said, “Our houses have not been repaired for two years despite the government’s promises.” The earthquake night became a dark night. We went to live in the tents created by the government, but there was a lot of cold, so they made arrangements for us to stay in containers with steamers. But in the cold, the iron vessel also gets very cold. Therefore, to avoid cold in winter, you have to wrap yourself in warm blankets.

There is a huge shortage of food items. The government provides assistance. But this is very low. So I have to buy something from the market, especially vegetables, but my income is not enough. My 26 -year -old son is unemployed. Industries and trade in the coastal city of Iskandar are still stalled. So my young son is unemployed. As an electrician, I get some work from time to time. So the stomach is barely filled.

This story is just like Ayadin, and there is also a story of other surviving people. In short, the Turkish Erdoan government has failed to rebuild after the earthquake.
