Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The district administration has imposed multiple conditions on DJ, band, pressure horn and other sound amplification devices in the district. Accordingly, the use of any type of loud speaker, DJ, band, pressure horn and other sound amplifying devices will be completely banned from 10 PM to 6 AM.

Collector and district magistrate Asheesh Singh issued restrictive orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defence Code 223 for noise pollution control in the district.

According to the order, the use of DJ, band, pressure horn and other sound amplification devices without permission is banned in the district during all festive events. Permission will have to be taken from the prescribed authority for their use during the festive event. Action will be taken against those who violate the order, as a punishable offence under Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

In compliance with the provisions of sound standards, generally a maximum of 2 medium-sized DJs and loud speakers can be permitted by the competent authority. Vendors who rent out DJs and loud speakers will not rent out more than 2 medium-sized DJs and loud speakers for any event. Storage and sale of pressure horns has been banned. The sound level will be restricted beyond the standard limit as per the schedule prescribed by the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules 2000. This order came into effect from today (February 6) and will remain effective till April 5.
