Neymar is back in action for his boyhood club Santos and played his first match against Botafogo. The Brazilian’s return was the talking point during the summer transfer window. A video has gone viral where the players of the Botafogo team took pictures with Neymar.
When the final whistle was blown for the match, the Botafogo players rushed towards Neymar and were lining up in a queue to take pictures with Brazilian star. Neymar happily obliged to the player’s requests and took pictures with each member of the Botafogo team.
Neymar returns to his boyhood Santos club
Although the match ended in a 1-1 draw, Neymar showcased his excellent dribbling skills in the match and gave the crowd an amazing performance. Neymar mentioned in his post match interview that he needs more minutes to get to his full potential.
“I need more minutes, more matches. I am not 100%, but I didn’t expect to run as much as I did tonight. I will be much better three, four games from now,” Neymar told journalists in Brazil after the game.
Neymar posted on social media after taking in an emotional homecoming: “As bad as the result was, today was a very special day. Thank you all for your affection and for encouraging us until the end. Now more than ever we need all the support from our fans… because with you we are stronger! Very happy and excited to be back, I will give my best as I always have to put Santos where it deserves to be, at the top!!! Come on team, come on nation… together we are unbeatable, BELIEVE.”

The Brazilian star’s comeback to his boyhood club Santos attracted over 20000 fans to the Villa Belmiro Stadium in Brazil. Neymar has signed a six month contract with Santos, which can later be extended as mentioned by the Brazilian striker.
