The food delivery and quick service segment is arguably the most fiercely fought sector in the business, especially the tech-business segment. Developments from this corner of India Inc. always leave little imagination, as they often capture the imagination.
Test Drive in 10 Minutes
Zepto, one of the major players in the business, alongside Zomato’s Blinkit and Swiggy and its associate businesses (SNACC, Swiggy Genie and Instamart), has announced the launch of a new service.
After Blinkit’s 10-minute ambulance, Zepto will deliver cars in 10 minutes. Well, it will not ‘deliver’ these cars, but will at least give you a chance to take it for a spin.
The company boss Aadit Palicha, took to LinkedIn to share the news.
In his post on the platform, Palicha said, “No, We’re Not Delivering Cars in 10 Minutes… yet. We’ve seen the headlines—Skoda & Zepto delivering cars in 10 minutes?! We love the energy, but let’s clear things up: you won’t be ordering a Škoda Kylaq from the Zepto app (as tempting as that sounds).”
The company has partnered with Czech carmaker Skoda.
Furthemore, Palicha said, “What you can get in 10 minutes? A test drive of the Škoda Kylaq for now 🙂
But… who knows what the future holds?”
Blitzkreig Before IPO
Replying to this very post, Skoda’s India arm said, “Now that the cat is out of the bag 🫣, we’re thrilled to partner with Zepto and bring Kylaq to your doorstep for a test drive, in the fastest, most convenient way possible. We’re just getting started 💚 Škoda X Zepto”

This development comes at time, when the Mumbai-based company is looking for thenext big step in its business, launching an Initial Public Offering (IPO) to get listed at the equity markets.
Its competitors, namely Zomato and Swiggy are already listed at the exchanges, Swiggy was only added in 2024.
