Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Taking a major step toward reducing traffic congestion, the board of directors of Indore Development Authority (IDA) on Wednesday noted that an elevated corridor between Malwa Mill Square and Robot Square via Rasoma Square is needed in the city.

The Board decided to invite tenders for the appointment of a consultant to prepare a feasibility report and detailed project report (DPR) for the elevated corridor. This elevated stretch will span from Malwa Mill Square to Wow Hotel, Rasoma Square and Robot Square, aiming to improve traffic flow along these crucial routes.

The meeting, chaired by divisional commissioner and IDA chairman Deepak Singh saw the presence of key officials including collector Asheesh Singh, municipal commissioner Shivam Verma, and other senior representatives from the Public Works Department and Forest Division. Beyond the elevated corridor, the Board made several other significant decisions, including the appointment of a consultant for the development of Nagar Van (Urban Forest) in the IDA’s Plan Number 97 Part-4, the approval of a revised design for the Startup Park on the Super Corridor and plans for a convention centre on 17 hectares of land in Scheme Number 172.

Other major Board decisions

—Approved the appointment of a consultant for the development of the Nagar Van, located in the IDA’s Plan Number 97 Part-4. The consultant will be selected from a panel of architects already enlisted with the IDA.

— Reviewed recommendations from the transaction advisor regarding the maintenance and operation of two key infrastructure projects –Senior Citizen Building at Plot No TB.11 (Plan No 134) and ISBT at Plan Numbers 139 and 169-A. The advisor’s suggestions for the upkeep and smooth functioning of these facilities were discussed in detail.

— Revised design for the Startup Park under the Authority’s Scheme Number 151, located on the Super Corridor, was presented by architect M/s Mehta & Associates LLP. The Board decided to invite proposals for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for further development.

— The consultant presented the plans for a proposed convention centre, which will be built on 17 hectares of land within Scheme Number 172. The Board considered the proposal for this project.

— Approved the tender for the project management consultant for road construction work under the IDA’s Scheme TPS-04 following the selection of the lowest bidder.

— Reviewed a letter from the assistant director/secretary of Krishi Upaj Mandi Samiti requesting land allocation for Agromart on the Super Corridor. The decision to allocate the land was made contingent on receiving approval from the state government.
