Mumbai: The local residents have been complaining to the BMC of unauthorised use of the public space, and taking note of the grievances, the BMC took action against the illegal structures alongside the railway line in Ghatkopar West.
This action is part of the BMC’s larger initiative to tackle illegal construction and encroachment across the city, for which Additional Municipal Commissioner, Ashwini Joshi has set the deadline of March 31.
In another action under its anti-encroachment drive, BMC’s encroachment and removal department recently seized 544 handcarts, 968 cylinders and 1251 other items like stoves, shawarma machines etc.
