Former Director General of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) Dr. R. A. Mashelkar has advocated Gandhian Engineering to solve healthcare challenges.
Delivering his keynote address on “Game-Changing Disruptive Innovation for NextGen Diagnostics” at the annual alumni meet “Ekatva 2025” of IIHMR University of Jaipur on Wednesday, Dr Mashelkar said that India needs affordable excellence paradigm to solve healthcare challenges.
”We are looking at the second quarter of this century and are talking about Viksit Bharat 2047. And it is you all young people who will achieve it. So, what is important is making more from less for more people. This means making high technology for poor people,” said Dr Mashelkar.
He said that he do not support ‘Jugaad’, instead, taking about game-changing disruptive innovation. We as a nation need to focus on moving from ‘Best Practise’ to the ‘Next Practise’.”
Welcoming all the dignitaries and the former students, Dr. PR Sodani, President, IIHMR University shared that IIHMR University is celebrating the success of 40 years of its working.
The highlight of the event was the examples of disruptive healthcare innovations including AI-powered diagnostic tools for respiratory health, patient monitoring, metabolic screening, and maternal health.
