Palghar, Maharashtra: Jawhar Urban Co-Operative Bank, the backbone of the rural economy, has achieved national recognition for its outstanding performance. The bank has recently been awarded the prestigious Banco Blue Ribbon 2024 National Award for its exceptional performance during the 2023-24 financial year.

The award was presented to the bank on January 28, 2025, at a ceremony held at Aamby Valley in Lonavala by Bhargeshwar Banerji, former Chief General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India.

The bank’s Chairman Nilesh Patil, Vice Chairman Vaibhav Abhyankar, Directors Habib Sheikh, Praveen Mukne, Dnyaneshwar More, Narendra Prabhu, Namdev Patil, and CEO Prasad Mukne received the honor during the ceremony.

The event was attended by prominent figures from the cooperative and banking sectors, as well as representatives from banks across India.

Notably, just three months prior, the bank had received the Best Co-Operative Bank award from the Maharashtra Urban Co-Operative Bank Federation Limited, Mumbai. This new award highlights the bank’s growth and credibility.

Established in 1945 by the esteemed Yashwantrao Mukne Maharaj Jawahar Sansthan, the bank has built a strong reputation over its 75 years of tradition and trust. Under the inspirational guidance of Nilesh Sambare, the founder-chairman of Jijau Educational and Social Organisation, the board of directors has taken visionary steps for the bank’s financial stability, leading to significant progress.
