Union Home Minister Amit Shah today presided over a high-level review meeting on security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi. In which Amit Shah has directed to intensify the fight against terrorism and bring infiltration to zero. He also said that our goal is to eradicate the existence of terrorists.

 

Who was present in the meeting?

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau, Principal Secretary and Senior officials of Home Ministry and Jammu and Kashmir Administration including Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir. Home Minister Shah also held an important review meeting on security situation in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday, which included several senior officials including Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Union Home Secretary.

What did Amit Shah say about security in Jammu and Kashmir?

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to ending terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir. He said that all security agencies should take strict action by taking a tough stance against infiltration and terrorism. It was further stated that the funding provided to terrorism from money received from drug trade should be stopped and strictly prevented.

It is noteworthy that the Home Minister reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir along with army, police, paramilitary forces and other top officials in two consecutive meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, this was the first time that the Home Minister discussed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in such detail for two consecutive days.
