Before the start of the ODI series between India and England, the Ranji Trophy has been changed at the last moment in a big match of 2024-25. The quarterfinal match to be played between Mumbai and Haryana has been shifted from Lahli to Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The match is to be played from 8 to 12 February. However, there has been no concrete reason for this change by the BCCI, but according to reports, the decision has been taken due to bad weather and fog.

Why did Mumbai vs Haryana match be shifted from Lahli to Eden Gardens?

Earlier this match was to be played in Lahli, Haryana, but at the last minute it was shifted to Kolkata. The BCCI has not yet given the official cause of this change, but it is believed that the match has been transferred to another place due to cold and dense fog.

BCCI gives information to cricket associations

According to the report of the Indian Express, BCCI’s Development Manager Abay Kuruvilla has informed the Haryana Cricket Association and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). The report said that the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) had already booked flight tickets of 18 players of the team and they were about to leave for Lahli on Wednesday morning, but now the plan has been changed regarding the new location.

Cricket Association of Bengal will host

A MCA official said, “We were informed through mail that the Ranji Trophy match played between Haryana and Mumbai in Lahli is being transferred to the Eden Gardens in Kolkata due to unavoidable conditions. The Cricket Association of Bengal will host this match and take care of all the necessary arrangements. ”

Change due to cold and fog?

Although the BCCI has not yet officially stated the reason for the Venue shift, it is believed that the weather conditions, especially due to cold and fog, have been changed.

Jammu and Kashmir quarterfinals also changed

Apart from the quarterfinal match of Mumbai-Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir team’s quarterfinal match has also been shifted from their home ground to Pune. It is believed that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the weather conditions there too.
