Beijing. There has been a new twist in the ongoing trade war between the US and China. China has decided to increase tariffs on US products. Under this, a tariff of 10 to 15 percent will be imposed on various goods imported from the US. In particular, 15 per cent tariffs have been implemented on American coal and LNG (liquid natural gas) products and 10 per cent on other products including crude oil.

China will investigate Google’s functioning

China is not only increasing tariffs on American products but is now keeping a close watch on the activities of American tech companies. China has announced to investigate Google’s functioning. China alleges that Google is violating its antitrust (anti -monopoly) laws, causing unfair competition in the market.

America imposed 10% tariff on China

Recently, US President Donald Trump announced that an import tariff of 10 per cent would be imposed on goods imported from China. China strongly opposed this decision. China’s Foreign Ministry said that this is a unilateral decision of America and violates the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO). China retaliated in this tariff war and decided to increase the fee on US products.

Trump’s U-turn on Mexico and Canada

The US had announced not only China but also to impose tariffs on Canada and Mexico. However, Trump had to retreat in this case. A few days ago, Trump interacted with Mexico President Claudia Sheenbam over phone and agreed to postpone the tariff.

Apart from this, Trump has also postponed the decision to put tariffs on Canada for 30 days. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his conversation with Trump was positive, and the US agreed to stop 25% tariffs on Canada’s exports for “at least 30 days”.
