Mahakumbh 2025: The stampede during the Mauni Amavasya of Mahakumbh spread a sense of mourning across the country. Now Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has prepared a special plan of mob management through ‘Operation XI’ for this, so that there is no such incident during the Amrit bath of Vasant Panchami. Apart from this, a unilateral route has also been prepared for the safety of devotees.

Arrangements have been made to ensure that devotees do not have any kind of inconvenience.

Special arrangements have also been made to ensure that the devotees coming to the fair should not have any kind of trouble on the Pantoon Bridge. The most important thing is that additional police forces are also being deployed to prevent excessive pressure on Triveni Ghat. Where senior officials will also be deployed along with the team. Apart from this, the number of barricades has also been increased.

 

‘Operation 11’ plans

1. Strict enforcement of unilateral traffic

It has been decided to strictly implement the One-way traffic system on the day of Vasant Panchami in Mahakumbh. Traffic diversion will be done on the main roads to ensure smooth movement of devotees and control the large amount of traffic. Traffic on the pantoon bridge will continue. Additionally, additional police deployment and barricading have been arranged to control the crowd at bathing ghats.

2. Tight security in major areas

Special security arrangements have been made in major areas like the new Yamuna bridge. A team has been deployed under the leadership of an additional gazetted officer to control traffic from Naini to Sangam. Apart from this, two motorcycle squads will continuously patrol. Not only this, the railing along the bridge has been strengthened so that any kind of accident can be avoided.

3. Special monitoring on Shastri Bridge

A special team of police force has also been deployed to control traffic from Jhunsi to Sangam. Apart from this, two motorcycle squads will also actively patrol here.

 

4. Crowd management on Tikaramafi Circle

The CAPF has been deployed under the leadership of a gazetted officer on Tikarmafi Circle. Traffic coming from Jhunsi towards Tikarmafi Circle will be diverted from Katka Tiraha, Giraffe intersection, Chhatnag Circle and Samudrakup Circle. The road divider has also been leveled for the smooth movement of the devotees.

5. Special arrangement on Phaphamau, Pantoon Bridge

Special arrangements have been made on Phaphamau Bridge and Pontoon Bridge. Policemen of two motorcycle squads will continuously patrol here and a PAC squad has been deployed to control traffic and entry and disgrace.

6. Bus operation plan ready

Arrangements have been made for bus operations from temporary bus station Saraswati gate to Gorakhpur and Varanasi. Necessary number of reserve buses will stand in Jhunsi at night. Shuttle buses will be run from Andawa to Saraswati gate and cohops, so that the devotees coming to the fair do not have any kind of inconvenience.

7. Special arrangement at railway station

Special arrangements have also been made at Jhunsi railway station on the occasion of Vasant Panchami. A team of PAC has been deployed here under the leadership of a senior officer. Strong barricades have been done at the entry and exit gate. Along with this, frequency of trains is being increased by coordinating with railway officials.

8. Special security at Prayag Junction

Two police and PAC companies have been deployed under the leadership of three DSPs. Strong barricades and necessary police forces have been deployed at Yudhishthira Chowk to prevent traffic going from IERT flyover to Prayag Junction. Adequate number of boards have been installed for the convenience of devotees.

9. Look at the crowd at this square

Necessary police forces and PACs have been deployed under the leadership of Gazetted officials for diversion at Medical College and Balsan Chowk. The route from Balsan to Nagwasuki area will be changed via Bakshi Dam. Devotees from Stanley Road Chowk will be taken to the fair ground via Lajpat Rai Road, Mandalayukta Office Chowk, Bharat Scout, Mazar Chowk, IERT Parking via the left side.

10. More police and patrol police deployment

Apart from this, additional police and patrol police have been deployed at Andawa and Sahaso Chowk. A team of 9 motorcycles will continue to monitor here. Crane is being arranged to deal with any emergency.

11. Deployment of more forces

Two more companies of RAF and three more companies of PAC have been deployed for the third Amrit bathing festival. Gazetted officers will monitor sensitive areas. 56 Accelerated Response Team (QRT) has been deployed. A squad of 15 motorcycles has been deployed for strict patrolling. CAPF and PAC have been deployed on the main intersection and diversion point barrier.
