Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has presented the Union Budget for the year 2025-26. The most important decision declared in this budget for working class across the country is that now those with annual income up to Rs 12 lakh have been exempted from income tax. This budget, which has fulfilled the vision of India by 2047, has also brought many gifts for Gujarat and the citizens here.

 

Developed India

Welcoming this Union Budget, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has said that this budget is a budget to speed up development on the basis of poor, youth, donors and women empowerment. Agriculture, MSME, investment and export, these four important subjects have been included in this budget. The Chief Minister said that Gujarat is moving towards 2047 to become a leader in India and become a developed country as an engine of development and the provisions of this budget will give it a new momentum.

Big announcement for startup and MSME sector

Currently there are more than 1 crore registered MSMEs in the country, which are responsible for 45 percent of the country’s total exports with their quality products. Therefore, to help these MSME gain higher efficiency, technological upgradation and better access to capital, the range of investment and turnover for classification of all MSMEs in the Union Budget has been increased by 2.5 times and 2 times respectively. Today, more than 19 lakh MSMEs are registered in Gujarat, and Gujarat ranks fourth in terms of registration on the industry portal in India. This announcement made in the budget will be very beneficial in increasing the efficiency of Gujarat’s MSME and achieving high productivity.

Continuous encouragement to entrepreneurs

Along with this, ‘first -time entrepreneur scheme’ has been announced for new entrepreneurs, especially women, for the first time entrepreneurs of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Gujarat is becoming a hub of startup today and Gujarat has been a state to perform continuously for the last 4 years under the startup rankings released by the DPIT of the Government of India. The Gujarat government is constantly encouraging and supporting emerging startups and entrepreneurs.

Easy access to loans for industrial enterprises

Again, this new scheme announced in the Union Budget will give a big benefit from this new scheme to women as well as women of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who started for the first time in the state. Under this new scheme, it has also been announced to provide a fixed loan of Rs 2 crore to about 5 lakh women, scheduled castes and scheduled tribe entrepreneurs for the next 5 years, which will easily get loans for their industrial undertakings.

Rehabilitation provisions extended by 31 March 2030

Apart from this, the amount of credit guarantee cover for MSME and startup has also been increased, which will also benefit the state’s MSME and startup. They will not have difficulty in getting loans. The provisions of exemption, deduction and transfer for financial institutions operated in IFSC in GIFT City have been extended for the next 5 years. The International Financial Services Center (IFSC) includes provisions for the establishment of global companies in IFSC in the Union Budget, keeping in mind the Gift City to attract and promote additional activities). Special benefits have been given to ship-staging units, insurance offices and treasury centers. Along with this, the provisions of exemption, deduction and transfer for financial institutions operating in IFSC have been extended to 31 March 2030.

Benefits in agriculture

The Finance Minister has announced the cotton productivity mission in the Union Budget, which is a five -year plan to increase cotton yield and promote additional long -fired cotton. Gujarat is today the country’s leading state in cotton production. The scheme will prove to be very useful for the cotton farmers of Gujarat, which will increase the state’s cotton productivity. Apart from this, the limit of Kisan Credit Card has been increased from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, which will help the farmers of the state to become self -sufficient. The budget also provides for basic facilities and upgradation of warehouses for air cargo including horticulture products. These provisions will be useful for the production of horticulture crops in Gujarat.

Connectivity and tourism

It has been announced in the Union Budget that 120 new airports will be built in the next 10 years under the flight scheme. It is noteworthy that Gujarat is one of the states of the country which has performed remarkable in the implementation of the flight scheme. In the last 8 years, 6 regional airports have been successfully operated in the state under this scheme. The announcement made in the budget under the flight scheme will speed up the development of regional contact in the state and this will not only benefit the passengers flying for local destinations, but will also benefit greatly for the overall economy of the state.

Announcement to develop 50 tourist destinations

In addition, the Union Budget has announced the development of the top 50 tourist destinations in the country, which has given special attention to places associated with Buddhist heritage. For this, the central government will partner with the states. Significantly, Gujarat is one of the states of the country that allocates the most budget for the development of tourism sector. Gujarat is constantly making efforts to develop tourism areas of the state and provide easy tourism facilities. The provision made to develop top tourist destinations in the budget will also benefit the Buddhist circuit passing through Gujarat. This will develop world -class infrastructure at the tourist places of the state, as well as a pleasant tourist experience to tourists. The Union Budget has announced a Rs 25,000 crore maritime board fund to promote ship -making and ship -breaking activities and focus on the development of maritime clusters. Such financing will give a big boost to the maritime sector of Gujarat.

National manufacturing mission

The National Manufacturing Mission was announced in the Union Budget, so that the business is ready for the future, ready -demanded jobs are ready for the future and clean technology manufacturing i.e. solar PV, EV battery, wind turbine, electrolyzer, grid manufacturing I gained momentum. -Stel is battery, etc. Clean technology manufacturing will ensure environmentally friendly and durable industrial development. Small, medium and large enterprises have been included in this mission to promote Make in India.

Union Budget 2025-26 comprehensive and inclusive budget

Gujarat is a manufacturing center today and contributes 18% to the industrial production of the country. Keeping in mind the sustainable development, Gujarat is also moving forward in clean technology manufacturing, while this National Manufacturing Mission will also prove to be beneficial for Gujarat. The budget presented by the Finance Minister has also fulfilled the hopes of the poor and middle class of the state, in which the mantra of ‘Citizen I’ is seen to be realized. The Union Budget 2025-26 is a broad and inclusive budget that fulfills the promise of India developed by 2047 where the states of the country will also be fully developed.
