This is the first time a wedding ceremony is being held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Draupadi Murmu has approved the marriage ceremony to be held on 12 February. Pleased with the service and behavior of a woman officer posted in the security service at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President has given his approval.

 

According to media reports, only a limited number of friends and relatives will be present in the wedding ceremony. They will also be screened before admission. However, no official announcement has been made by Rashtrapati Bhavan about the ceremony yet. According to reports, Commandant Poonam Gupta will be the first person to marry at Rashtrapati Bhavan, a woman constable of CRPF, who is working as a PSO at Rashtrapati Bhavan. According to media reports, Poonam Gupta reached Jammu and Kashmir on 12 February. She will marry Avinash Kumar working as Commandant. A limited number of relatives will be included in the wedding ceremony.
