Moradabad, February 01: In a shocking incident, A woman showed great courage when she confronted a man who was harassing her while she was travelling with her husband, with a disability, on a scooter in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad. The woman thrashed the miscreants with her husband’s crutch in the middle of the road. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. The incident happened near a liquor shop.
The couple was passing near Kashipur Chungi when a young man standing outside the liquor shop started making obscene comments and gestures toward the woman on Thursday (January 30) at around 5 PM in the evening. The woman immediately stopped the scooter, got down and slapped the man with her slippers to protest against his cruel act.
When the man tried to come closer aggressively, she grabbed her husband’s crutch and started beating him with it. Her disabled husband also joined in, caught the harasser and slapped him multiple times to teach him a lesson. Despite the incident, the couple has not filed a police complaint. The disabled husband said, “I have taken vows to protect my wife. I can do anything for her safety and will never tolerate such behaviour.”
The Man Is Known for Harassing Women
According to local people, the man is from a nearby area and is known for misbehaving with women, especially after drinking alcohol. This is not the first time he has been beaten up for such actions.
Police Action
There are no reports of police action in connection with the matter even after the video of the incident went viral on social media. However, Moradabad Police replied to the viral video and said, “In the above case, Thakurdwara Police Station in-charge has been directed to investigate/take necessary action.”
