You must have seen many players making debut in international cricket, but you have hardly seen any player making debut in the middle of the match. This unique achievement was achieved in the fourth T20 International match played between India and England. Harshit Rana made his T20 international debut in the form of conversion substitutes in place of Shivam Dubey. Harshit came to Pune and completely dominated. In a four -over spell, Harshit changed the entire story of the match.
Harshit’s great performance
Actually it happened that in the 19th over of the Indian team, a ball of overtus hit Shivam Dubey’s head. Dubey completed the batting, but did not enter the field. Harshit Rana was fielded on the field as a conversion substitute instead of Shivam. Captain Suryakumar gave the 12th over of the innings to Harshit. Harshit spread his magic as soon as he came and showed Liam Livingston the path of the pavilion on the second ball. This wicket of Livingstone was overshadowed by the team at a very important time. In the next over, Harshit was bowled by Harry Brook and 18 runs in the over.
However, Harshit returned to his third over and conceded just 4 runs in the 16th over of the innings and also showed Jacob Bethel to the pavilion. The captain then showed confidence in Harshit and assigned him the responsibility of bowling the 19th over. Harshit once again met the captain’s trust and ensured Team India’s victory by dismissing England’s last hope. Harshit took three wickets for 33 runs in four overs.
Harshit’s unique debut in T20I
Harshit Rana has become the first player to make his debut as a conversion substitute in the T20 International match. Harsh has become the seventh player to make his debut in international cricket as a Harshit Constitution. Head coach Gautam Gambhir was also very happy with Harshit’s performance. Team India defeated England by 15 runs in the fourth T20 International match. With this victory, the Indian team has taken an unassailable 3–1 lead in the series.
