During the budget session, a big controversy has arisen over Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s statement about President Draupadi Murmu. Sonia Gandhi had commented on the President’s address, in which she said that “Poor Lady, she looked very tired, was able to speak with great difficulty.”
After this statement, the BJP reacted sharply and demanded an apology, but this time the Rashtrapati Bhavan also gave a direct reply. Rashtrapati Bhavan described Sonia Gandhi’s statement against dignity and said that “such a bad statement could have been avoided, it is against the dignity of Rashtrapati Bhavan.”
BJP’s sharp reversal over Sonia Gandhi’s statement
The BJP termed this statement of Sonia Gandhi as an insult to the tribal society. Many party leaders attacked the Congress and called it a statement hurting the dignity of the presidential post.
BJP spokesperson said:
“President Draupadi Murmu is the first tribal woman in the country. The Congress should have respected him, but Sonia Gandhi’s statement is an insult not only to him but also to the entire tribal society. “
PM Modi’s attack on Congress – “They find it boring to speak tribal daughter”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also launched a scathing attack on Congress and Sonia Gandhi at an election rally in Dwarka, Delhi.
PM Modi said:
“President Murmu is born in a tribal family in the forests of Odisha. Her mother tongue is not Hindi, she speaks Oriya. Despite this, he gave a good address in Hindi and inspired the country. But Sonia Gandhi insulted him by calling him ‘poor’ and ‘tired’. “
The Prime Minister further said:
“They find it boring to speak of tribal daughter. This is an insult to 10 crore tribal brothers and sisters. The royal family of the Congress does not like people coming up from the ground at all. The Congress humiliates the poor, Dalit, tribal, OBC society at every step. ”
“Congress habit to humiliate India’s achievements” – PM Modi
PM Modi said that President Murmu spoke about India’s economic progress, prosperity of farmers, metro and road infrastructure, achievements of players. But the Congress felt all this boring.
he adds:
“It is better to abuse the Congress, defame India and support the urban Naxalites. There is a need to be careful with his statements. “
Will Sonia Gandhi apologize?
Despite the strong criticism of BJP and PM Modi, there is no cleanliness or waiver from Sonia Gandhi so far. But due to this statement, there has been tremendous pressure on the Congress.
Now it has to be seen whether Sonia Gandhi gives clarification on her statement or the Congress will try to ignore this dispute.
