In the Dhondalpada area of Dindori taluka in Nashik, an increase in leopard sightings has created an atmosphere of fear among farmers and villagers. Therefore, the farmers and citizens have demanded that the forest department take necessary action regarding the leopard.
For the past three to four days, farmers have been spotting leopards at night, causing extreme fear among those watering crops during late hours. Additionally, around midnight on Tuesday, residents noticed a leopard roaming near a farmer’s house. Alarmed by the sighting, nearby villagers shouted and attempted to drive the leopard away.
Most of the villagers live on their farms, and many go to the fields at night for irrigation. The increasing leopard activity has heightened their fears. Villagers claim that the leopard is a female with a cub, further intensifying safety concerns.
Sarpanch Lata Gaikwad stated that the leopard’s presence in farm areas has caused panic among farmers and poses a threat to livestock. She urged the forest department to take immediate action and spread awareness among citizens.
