Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The BJP declared the names of the party’s Indore city and rural unit presidents on Thursday.

With the announcement of these two names, the party has declared the presidents of all 62 districts in the state. Sumit Mishra has been made president of the Indore city unit, and Shrawan Singh Chawda has been given the reins of the rural unit.

Urban development minister Kailash Vijayvargiya played an important role in the selection of these two candidates. Both have been appointed with his consent. Election to the post of party’s state president may be held in the first week of February.

Nevertheless, the guidelines have not been followed in the appointment of party’s state unit president. Out of 62 districts, only seven have women presidents. Similarly, the age bar fixed for the candidates was shelved in a few cases. Selection of district unit presidents has been made on the basis of the wishes of the powerful leaders in the party.
