CBSE Launches Annual Psycho-Social Counselling For Class 11 & 12 Students From Feb 1 | X/CBSE

The annual psycho-social counselling is set to commence on February 1, 2025, and last until April 4, 2025, according to an official statement from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The board has announced that they will be providing counselling to students in Classes XI and XII in an effort to help them relax and focus in the lead-up to the theory exams that will begin on February 15, 2025.

The official announcement noted that as part of this program, CBSE will offer its yearly free psycho-social therapy in two parts: before the exams and after the results are announced.

Method of psychosocial counselling:

There are three methods by which the board carries out the psychosocial counselling: IVRS, podcasts, and tele-counselling.

Interactive Vocie Response System:

Students can use the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) for free, around the clock, by calling the CBSE toll-free number 1800-11-8004. You can use the opportunity to ask questions about time and stress management, how to prepare for exams without stress, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and crucial contact information for CBSE offices. Both Hindi and English versions of the facility are available.

Podcasts:

On the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in, students can listen to bilingual podcasts that discuss stress management and mental health.

Tele-counselling:

Students will receive guidance on how to take stress-free tests from 66 qualified counsellors, principals, psychologists, and special educators from government and private schools connected to the CBSE. Of these, 15 counsellors are from Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates, while 51 are from India. The service will be offered Monday through Saturday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Beginning on February 15, 2025, the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams will be administered. The English test will open the Class 10 exam, while the Entrepreneurship paper will open the Class 12 exam. It is anticipated that 44 lakh children would take the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams this year.
