Citizens For The Constitution will host an inter-religious Christian celebration on Tuesday to celebrate the festival of Christmas by people from across religions. The belated celebration of Christmas will feature cultural program as well as addresses about constitutional values.

The inter-religious solidarity council of Citizens For The Constitution will host a Christmas celebration by inviting people from different religions and explaining the significance of the festival to non-Christians. Priests like Dr. SM Michael SVD and Vivian Fernandes will reflect on the religious aspects of the festival to the attendees. The celebration is scheduled to be held at Institute of Indian Culture in Andheri (E) from 6pm.

Sudhakar Suradkar, a retired Inspector General of Police from the Maharashtra Police Service, will be the chief guest at the event moderated by Irfan Engineer, director of Centre for Study of Society and Secularism, while Naveen Kumar and Mark Tribhuvan will attend the celebration as special guests. The event will also host cultural programmes to celebrate the festival.

Citizens For The Constitution celebrates religious festival with people from across the religions to bring all citizens together for constitutional values like communal harmony, democracy, sovereignty, justice and liberty. In April, the organisation celebrated Easter, Ramadan and Holi together. In September, it also held a special celebration to commemorate Swami Vivekanad’s speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chigao in 1893.
