Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A pack of stray dogs brutally attacked a 7-year-old boy, leaving him with severe injuries in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district. The incident took place on Monday morning when the kid was playing at Sharda Bal Ashram in Govindpuri area when four to five stray dogs surrounded him.
The boy attempted to escape, but the dogs pounced on him, biting him 18 times across his body. By the time staff from the ashram intervened, the dogs had inflicted extensive damage. The boy was immediately sent to the JAH hospital in the district where he underwent treatment.
According to information, the victim child has been identified as 7-year-old Ravikant, who was enrolled at the Sharda Bal Ashram in the city. According to sources, on Monday, Ravikant was playing outside the ashram and was unattended. Out of nowhere, a pack of six to eight street dogs surrounded him and started biting him. They tore through his scalp, leaving deep wounds, and dragged him by his neck as he screamed for help.
Hearing his screams, the ashram staff ran outside and saw the child lying in a pool of blood. Ravikant was rushed to the JAH Super Specialty Hospital, where doctors immediately began a two-hour operation. They found deep injuries all over his body, requiring 107 stitches to treat the wounds. He remains in the ICU, with his condition critical but stable. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and are further investigating the matter.
