The ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj has seen many prominent visitors like celebrities, politicians and even including sports stars. Legendary boxer Mary Kom joined the event on January 26, taking a holy dip in the Ganga. A video circulated on social were she appeared to have a great time, playing in the river, posing for photos and videos, and even showing off her boxing moves.

She even expressed her delight in being part of the festivities, appreciating the arrangements made for the devotees. Speaking to IANS, she thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for making the pilgrimage world-class.
“It was a nice experience. The arrangements are very good. I would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. They have made it a world-class pilgrimage.”
Despite being a Christian Mary Kom highlighted the unity between Sanatan and Christian communities and shared her support for the Maha Kumbh, saying, “Even though I am a Christian, I came here to support the event.” This was her first experience at the Kumbh, and she found it memorable.
About Maha Kumbh Mela 2025
The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 began on January 13 with the Pavitra Snan, followed by the Makar Sankranti Amrit Snan on the second day. It will conclude on February 26, Maha Shivratri.
Key bathing dates include January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), February 3 (Basant Panchami), February 12 (Magh Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivratri). So far, over 10 crore devotees have taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, setting a record for this sacred event.
