8th International Ayurveda Congress To Be Held In Pune On Feb 1-2, 2025 With Global Participation |
Dr DY Patil (Deemed) University, through its Dr DY Patil College of Ayurveda and Research Centre in Pune, is set to host the 8th International Ayurveda Congress (International Ayurveda Conference) in collaboration with the All India Ayurveda Congress, New Delhi, the International Maharshi Ayurveda Foundation from the Netherlands, and the International Academy of Ayurveda. The two-day event will take place at the university auditorium in Pimpri on February 1 and 2, 2025, and is expected to see participation from Ayurveda experts, researchers, educators, and students from across the globe.
The conference will feature a series of lectures, research paper presentations, and discussions on various aspects of Ayurveda. Dr Smita Jadhav, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Dr DY Patil (Deemed) University, announced that experts and academics from all over the world, including those from Brazil, have already registered.
Among the dignitaries present at the conference will be Dr Jose Roge, a prominent Ayurveda professor from Brazil, Principal Prof Dr Gunwant Yeola, Research Director Prof Dr Asmita Vele, and other key faculty members. In addition, 16 Ayurveda students from Brazil have also registered to attend this international event.
Dr Smita Jadhav highlighted that the conference has been approved by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, as well as the National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicine. She stated that the primary goal of the conference is to discuss innovative research, the future scope of Ayurveda, treatment solutions, and the exploration of Ayurveda’s role in modern healthcare. The event is also aligned with initiatives like the ‘Integrated Health Scheme’ and ‘Heal in India,’ as proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and aims to encourage international collaborations.
Conference schedule
On the first day of the conference, a special graduation ceremony will be held to honor several distinguished individuals. Dr Tony Neder, Head of the Global Transcendental Meditation Organization in the US, Telangana Additional Director General of Police Mahesh Bhagwat, and Ayurveda expert Prof Dr Sadanand Sardeshmukh will be conferred with the title of “Honorary Doctor of Science” by the Chancellor of Dr DY Patil University, Dr PD Patil. The ceremony will also be attended by other university dignitaries, including Pro-Chancellor Dr. Bhagyashree Patil, Vice-Chancellor Dr NJ Pawar, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Smita Jadhav.
The second day of the conference will feature a special address by Union AYUSH Minister (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav. Other notable figures attending the conference will include Dr PD Patil (Chancellor of Dr DY Patil University), Dr Bhagyashree Patil (Pro-Chancellor), MP Shrirang Barne, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha (Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH), Vaidya Jayant Devpujari (Chairman of the National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicine), Dr Bhushan Patwardhan (National Research Professor of AYUSH), Vaidya Devendra Triguna (Chairman of the All India Ayurveda Congress), Prof Dr Subhash Ranade (International Academy of Ayurveda), and Dr Rainer Picha (Chairman of the International Maharishi Ayurveda Foundation in the Netherlands).
Over 100 international experts and 1200 national-level researchers, doctors, professors, and students from ten countries are expected to participate in this conference. More than 500 students, doctors, and researchers will also present their research papers during the event.
