A total of 20 wickets fell on the first day of the second Test match being played between Pakistan and West Indies in Multan, which recorded the innings in the record book. Both teams all out in their first innings and set a new record. The host team Pakistan lagged behind nine runs after scoring 154 runs.

Spinners dominate

In this match, 16 wickets out of a total of 20 wickets were taken by spinners, who are the most wickets taken by spinners on the first day of Test cricket. Earlier records were 14 wickets during the Leeds Test between England and South Africa in 1907.

Left -handed spinner Moti performed brilliantly and took three wickets for 49 runs, which reduced the Pakistan team to 154 runs. His all -round game also faded Noman Ali’s hat -trick and six wickets bowling for 41 runs.

Pakistan’s struggle

Pakistan’s batsmen got stuck on their own spin pitch. Warikan took four wickets for 43 runs and batted at number 11 and also played an unbeaten 36 innings. Mohammad Rizwan (49) and Saud Shakeel (32) shared a significant 68 -run partnership for the fifth wicket, but the team eventually was reduced to 154 runs.

In the first Test, the West Indies team was dismissed for 137 and 123 runs against Spin within three days, and this time also the spin bowlers changed the attitude of the match by spreading their magic.
