CM Mohan Yadav Visits Ramniwas Rawat’s Residence; Shares A Meal After His By-Election Defeat In Gwalior |
Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Former Forest Minister Ramniwas Rawat, who switched from Congress to BJP, is back in the headlines.
This comes after Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav visited Rawat’s residence in Gwalior during his recent trip and held a private meeting with him.
Ramniwas Rawat, who spent a long time in Congress before joining BJP, was appointed as Forest Minister after his move. However, after winning as a Congress MLA and later joining BJP, his seat required a by-election, which Congress reclaimed. This led to BJP losing a seat, and Rawat’s political career seemed to slow down.
Now, CM Mohan Yadav’s visit to Rawat’s house has raised questions about potential responsibilities being planned for him within the party.
Speaking to the media, Rawat downplayed the meeting, stating, “The Chief Minister visited my house, we talked, and he left.”
When asked about any new role, he said, “There’s no such discussion yet, but if the party thinks I’m capable, I will take up the responsibility with full dedication.”
Rawat also hinted at dissatisfaction with the current Vijaypur MLA. He alleged that the MLA hid certain details in the affidavit filed before the elections and claimed that some undisclosed matters could even make the MLA eligible for punishment.
During the interaction, Rawat also addressed questions about Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s previous comments about not being invited to certain events. Rawat said, “That matter has already been resolved. Scindia is a senior leader of the party, and we work together with mutual respect.”
Rawat’s statements and the CM’s visit have added fuel to speculation about his potential comeback in active politics.
