Mumbai-After donating the limbs of two brain patients in the last 24 hours, Mumbai has recorded its sixth organ donation this month. One of the organ donors was a 29 -year -old man from Navi Mumbai, who was donated after the brain was declared dead during treatment at a hospital in Belapur.
While the other person whose organ was donated was the 34 -year -old Swapnil Rathore Kharghar, the cluster manager of a food app company. He was undergoing treatment for brain hemorrhage at a hospital in Navi Mumbai and his condition did not improve despite surgery. During treatment, the doctors finally declared him brain dead.
Therefore, members of the Medical Team and Zonal Transplant Coordination Committee (ZTCC) informed their families about organ donation. When the family agreed on this, the young man’s liver and two kidneys were donated and three patients were given new life.
In the last one year, we have insisted on counseling not only organs but also bones, spine, skin like tissue donation. We have also started a sub-committee to increase branded notification and promote organ donation organ awareness, which is now increasing in number.
