A man resembling the appearance of Dubai Sheikhs was spotted attending Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. It was learned that he was a content creator who dressed up in such an attire for creating reels at the event. However, his ‘prank’ went wrong after people found his act disrespectful. As the video of the incident surfaced online, netizens too condemned the reel creator.
In the video, the man was seen walking on the lands of Prayagraj with two of his friends, who introduced him to passersby. They called him with a fake name which matched with his get-up.
Dressed in long white robe and a traditional Arabic headdress, he walked at the largest Hindu gathering held at Uttar Pradesh.

“Sheikh Premanand” attends Maha Kumbh 2025
He was said to be “Sheikh Premanand” in the reel. No sooner, the name sparked suspicion in the minds of people and made them question him.
It was stated he hailed from Rajasthan and created his fake identity to soothe his craze for reels. However, he was mobbed for disrespecting religions for his mere prank at the holy gathering.
While people from across the globe are visiting the grand event at the Sangam city, irrespective of their religion, what bothered people was his fake identity and ‘prank’ stunt.
Mobbed by crowd for his ‘disrespectful’ prank
Perceiving his actions as disrespectful, the upset crowd chased and attacked him. During the attack, being confronted by Sadhus, he reportedly confessed and informed them of the prank.
The video is being widely circulated on social media claiming the man was attacked because of his Muslim identity and attire, however, it was rather learned that the upset crowd at Maha Kumbh charged at him over his prank and reel stunts at the auspicious gathering.
As the video rolled out on the internet, netizens agreed to what people did to him at Maha Kumbh. They slammed him and wrote, “This is Kumbh, not a fancy dress”. “Sadhus did correct. His naming himself Sheikh Premanand… it is not a fancy dress show going on”, commented another.

Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj started on January 13 and wcontinue until Maha Shivratri (Feb 26). UNESCO has listed it as the largest peaceful religious congregation. Crores of believers come together to soak themselves in auspiciousness by taking the holy dip at Triveni Sangam, the confluence of three holy rivers—Ganga, Yamuna,muna and Saraswati.
