Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two minor cousins, aged 8 and 12, who left for their village in Dhar on two bicycles without informing their family members, were rescued by Khudel police after travelling about 100 km, an official said on Thursday.
DSP (Headquarters) Umakant Chowdhary said that a person lodged a complaint at Khudel police station, stating that his 8-year-old son and 12-year-old nephew had gone out on their bicycles from their home in Umariya Khurd on Tuesday night, saying they were going to a nearby shop.
When they did not return after four hours, the family searched for them and eventually reached the police station. Understanding the severity of the incident, a team was formed to locate the boys.
The team examined CCTV footage and spotted the children travelling on Dhar Road, passing through Devguradiya, Teen Imli, IT Park, Bhanwarkuan, and Gangwal Bus Stand.
The police team finally rescued the boys from Mangod Square in Amjhera, Dhar, approximately 100 km from their home and handed them over to their parents. The children said they were on their way to their village in Dhar.
