Roads have been blocked due to snowfall in Himachal Pradesh. Gurez-Bandipora Road, Semthan-Kishtwar, Mughal Road are closed due to snowfall in Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Zojila pass of Jammu and Kashmir. Today on Thursday, yellow alert of cold wave has been issued in 5 districts of Himachal. Rain, snowfall, fog and cold wave will continue in Himachal till January 28. There is a possibility of dense fog in 40 districts of Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of rain at some places.

It will rain in Delhi

Rain is expected in Delhi NCR. The Meteorological Department said that on the morning of January 23, the maximum temperature in Delhi was 21.39 degrees Celsius after a drop of 4 degrees. The minimum and maximum temperatures during the day are expected to be 13.05°C and 23.97°C respectively. The air humidity is 29% and the wind speed is 29 km per hour.

According to the Meteorological Department, due to active cyclonic circulation, cyclonic storm may occur in the country. Presently the cyclone as a Western Disturbance is situated at lower tropospheric level in and around Punjab and this cyclonic storm is spread over Haryana and its adjoining areas at tropospheric level. There is a cyclonic circulation over southeast Rajasthan and its lower subtropical levels. Another Western Disturbance is active as a trough with westerly winds over the central and upper tropical regions.

Where will it rain on January 23?

Due to the cyclonic storm, there is a possibility of sporadic rain and snowfall in the Western Himalayan region on January 23. There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry. There may be rain with strong winds in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The effect of this weather can also be seen in other states of South India like Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha.

Due to the impact of these stormy winds, there is a possibility of cold wave returning in various parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh. Dense fog may occur in the morning and evening in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Odisha and Western Uttar Pradesh till January 26. Cold day warning has also been issued in various cities of Himachal Pradesh.
