All-rounder Venkatesh Iyer has got injured in this tournament and the problems of Kolkata Knight Riders have increased. Iyer was injured due to a sprain in his leg while batting.
Iyer sprained his leg while playing for Madhya Pradesh against Kerala in the Ranji Trophy. Despite taking physio treatment on the field, he had to leave the field due to increasing pain. Iyer could score only two runs in three balls. Later due to injury he returned to the dressing room.

Venkatesh Iyer is one of the most expensive players of IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders have appointed him for Rs 20 crore for the IPL season starting March 21. Bought for 23.75 crores. However, Iyer’s injury has raised concerns about whether he will be able to play in the IPL season or not.

Kerala’s M Nidhesh dismissed Madhya Pradesh opener Harsh Gawli for seven runs and Himanshu Mantri for 15 runs.
