HDFC Bank Alert: Many bank services will remain closed on January 24-25, know the complete schedule

India’s largest private sector bank HDFC Bank has issued an important alert for its customers. The bank has announced that many of its banking services will be temporarily unavailable on January 24 and 25 due to maintenance. This step has been taken to provide better and smoother banking experience to the customers.

Earlier, on January 17 and 18, HDFC Bank had temporarily closed some services due to maintenance.

24-25 January: Chatbanking, SMS banking and phonebanking IVR services closed.

• The following services will remain closed from 10:00 PM on January 24 to 2:00 AM on January 25 (total 16 hours):
  1. chatbanking
  2. SMS Banking
  3. PhoneBanking IVR

During this period, customers will not be able to use these services.

January 25: UPI services will be affected

The bank has also released the maintenance schedule on UPI services on January 25.

• From 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM on January 25 (total 3 hours), UPI based transactions will be affected.
• The following services will not be available during this period:
  • UPI transactions on HDFC Bank current and savings accounts.
  • UPI transactions through RuPay credit cards.
  • HDFC Mobile Banking App.
  • UPI transactions from Third Party Apps (TPAPs).
  • Merchant UPI Transactions.

Bank’s message: Customers alerted

HDFC Bank has given this information to the customers through registered email ID. The bank has requested customers to do their financial planning in advance and use other options during these dates and times.

These services were affected during the last maintenance

• 17 January 2025:
  • Forex Prepaid Card Service.
  • Prepaid Card NetBanking.
  • Forex card reloading through instant reload portal.

Customers had to face inconvenience due to the closure of these services.

Why is maintenance important?

HDFC Bank has said that this maintenance is being done with the aim of providing a better banking experience to the customers.

• According to the bank, this step will help in making digital services more robust and secure.
• However, customers have been advised to plan their financial needs keeping these dates in mind.
