A video of a 93-year-old man attending the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 and taking the holy dip at Triveni Sangam has surfaced online. The footage shows him climbing steps situated on the ghats of Prayagraj to offer prayers in the holy water.

People have to walk a considerable distance at Maha Kumbh to take the dip in the confluence of three rivers – Ma Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. However, this aspect didn’t worry the elderly devotee. He was seen walking with two his family members to offer prayers and seek blessings at Sangam.

93-year-old takes ‘Amrit Snan’ at 4 AM

In the video, the nonagenarian walked with the assistance of his grandson and another man who is believed to be the elderly man’s son. The three men were seen heading towards Triveni Sangam in the morning hours of Makar Sankranti.

The elderly man, along with the two family members, took ‘Amrit Snan’ on the auspicious day amidst the cold weather in Prayagraj at 4 AM.

This footage showing the 93-year-old attending the religious event with dedication and expressing his devotion by taking the holy dip at cold hours of the day is going viral (4.75 lakh views on Instagram as of Jan 23). It is serving as an inspiration to many others who wish to attend the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela.

The video was posted only by the grandson of his elderly man. Sharing it online, he asked others to stop giving excuses and head to Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. “My 93-year-old Nana went for Amrit Snan at Triveni Sangam at 4 AM in this freezing weather. What’s your excuse?”, he wrote while uploading the video on Instagram.
