Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Panic gripped the Pardeshipura area in the wee hours of Wednesday after a fire broke out in a garage on the ground floor of a residential building. The fire brigade and the local residents took out about a dozen residents, including children, and saved them. Some two-wheelers were burnt.
However, no casualty was reported in the incident. According to an officer of police fire services, the incident took place in the building of Surendra Jaiswal around 2.49 am. A garage is situated on the ground floor of the two-storey building and the fire started from there.

Due to the flames and smoke, the residents of the upper floor felt suffocation and they were panicked. They cried for help and informed the fire brigade and the police. The residents also reached the spot and tried to douse the flames.
Meanwhile, the firefighters reached there and had to use more than 2,500 litres of water to control the flames. During the incident, the firefighters with the help of residents took out 11 people, including children and women, from their house safely.
It took more than two hours to completely douse the flames. Two scooters, a bike and two bicycles parked in the garage were gutted in the fire. It was believed that an electric short circuit was the reason behind the fire.
