Madhya Pradesh Govt Set To Roll Out Women Empowerment Policy; Focus On Care, Protection & Economic Independence | ANI
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): After the launch of “Yuva Shakti” policy, the state government is now set to roll out policy to empower women. The Women and Child Development Department has prepared the draft policy, which will be presented during the next cabinet meeting.
A senior official from the department said that the policy focuses on care, protection and welfare of women and girls across various stages of life, from birth to old age. The prime objective is to ensure economic participation of women, enabling them to become self-reliant and independent.
The policy targets a wide range of groups, including girls, women, pregnant women, elderly women, as well as destitute and divorced women. Among the key measures, the policy outlines the provision of nutritious food for pregnant women to ensure birth of healthy children.
It also emphasises security issues for girls, with the cooperation of the home department to enhance safety. One of the policy’s crucial goals is to combat child marriages by raising awareness among girls about negative consequences of such practices. It encourages girls to refuse early marriages and educates them on how to access government support to avoid such situations.
Moreover, the policy aims to address malnutrition and promote better health, security, and nutrition for women. It also focuses on making women financially independent by providing job opportunities tailored to their skills and capacities. This policy is designed to ensure the overall well-being and empowerment of women.
