Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): For the first time, a unique destination wedding was organized at Gwalior’s Lal Tipara Gaushala, the largest cow shelter in Madhya Pradesh.

This wedding combined Indian cultural traditions with the message of cow protection, setting a new precedent in the region.

The ceremony began with a green fodder feast for the cows living in the Gaushala. Around 40 cottages, coated with cow dung and built using Vedic methods, were arranged for the guests, with each cottage accommodating 10 people.

The couple, Shivam and Anjali, chose this venue to emphasize the importance of cultural heritage and cow welfare. Shivam, a cable operator from Gwalior, has been actively involved in cow protection initiatives for years. Their decision to marry in such a traditional setting highlights the significance of blending modern celebrations with Indian values.

The bride’s farewell was conducted in a bullock cart prepared using cow dung. Students from various colleges in the Gwalior-Chambal region attended the wedding, many of whom pledged to follow similar practices for their own marriages.

The wedding featured organic dishes made from coarse grains, and dairy products like milk, curd, and ghee from the cows in the shelter were also used. Modern items such as fast food and intoxicants were completely avoided.

This historic wedding brought alive the essence of Indian traditions, with Vedic rituals, soothing shehnai music, and cultural elements adding to its charm. It marked a milestone for the Gaushala, setting an example for others to follow in celebrating special occasions with a cultural and eco-friendly approach.
