US Birthright Citizenship: After taking oath as the 47th President of America, Donald Trump has created a stir by signing more than 80 executive orders simultaneously. President Trump, who returned to the White House after four years, started work from the very first day on Monday and started giving such orders, which are affecting America as well as the entire world. Now, under Trump’s order, the constitutional law of citizenship based on birth in America has been cancelled, which is also being opposed across the country. But now this order has been challenged in the court.
22 states reached court
Twenty-two states dominated by the Democratic Party and several civil rights groups have challenged Trump’s executive order in court. A case has now been filed in the court in this matter.
Trump’s decision is a violation of the US Constitution
The District of Columbia and San Francisco, along with Democratic-dominated states, filed the first case in federal court in Boston on Tuesday. It was said that this decision of President Trump is a violation of the US Constitution. After this case, American Civil Liberties Union and Immigrants Organization have also approached the court.
Trump is a president, not a king
New Jersey’s Democratic Attorney General Matthew Platkin said, “We have approached the court to stop Trump’s order.” The President has broad powers, but he is not a king. Going to court against Trump’s decision has sent a clear message to the Trump administration that we will stand with our people and their basic constitutional rights.
What does American law say?
There is a provision to grant citizenship on the basis of birth under the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution. This means that every child born in the US automatically becomes a US citizen, regardless of the citizenship of their parents.
Let us tell you that this constitutional amendment was implemented in America in 1868 with the aim of giving equal rights to everyone. But since then the issue of illegal immigrants and infiltration has been continuously raised by political parties. Especially Trump was against it and as soon as he took oath, he passed a resolution against the change in the law.
Trump’s order is against American law
Trump’s order is against American law which gives citizenship to every child born there. But according to the new order, if a child wants American citizenship by birth, then it will be mandatory for either of his parents to be an American citizen. Also one of them must have a green card or one of them must be in the US military.
