Noida New Traffic Rules: If you commute to Noida daily from Delhi or its surrounding areas, then this news is very important for you. Noida Traffic Police has decided to enforce lane driving rules on three major routes.
These new rules aim to reduce traffic jams and improve road safety. Sudden lane changes during morning and evening rush hours not only slow down the traffic but also increase the risk of accidents.
On which routes will the new rules apply?
Lane driving rules in Noida will be implemented on three selected routes:
- Charkha Roundabout (Near Amity University)
- Route from Garden Galleria Mall to Film City
- Near Dalit Prerna Sthal (where there is a place to feed birds)
This step has been taken in view of the heavy traffic pressure and frequent jams on these roads.
A fine of Rs 1500 will be imposed for breaking the rules
According to Noida Traffic Police, any driver who violates the rules of lane driving will have to pay a fine of Rs 1500.
Increasing problems due to lane driving violations:
- Sudden lane change:
- When there is a sudden lane change, the vehicles behind apply brakes suddenly, due to which the traffic slows down.
- Due to this, the possibility of accidents like sideswipe and rear-end collision increases.
- Chain Reaction:
- Changing lanes by one vehicle disrupts the balance of the vehicles behind, which can lead to long traffic jams.
Monitoring will be done with the help of cameras
Noida DCP (Traffic) Lakhan Singh Yadav said that cameras will be installed to monitor violations.
Role of cameras:
- ITMS Cameras:
- At present, the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) cameras installed on the Noida Expressway are not able to capture such violations.
- The process of upgrading the cameras is underway.
- Lane-change zones:
- On all three selected routes, special lane-changing areas will be developed 500 meters ahead for lane change.
- Passengers will be able to change lanes only in these areas.
Major traffic pressure areas and their problems
1. Charkha Roundabout (Near Amity University):
- Vehicles coming from Sectors 125, 126 and 128 head towards Kalindi Kunj, Sarita Vihar and Jamia Nagar near Amity University.
- There is excessive traffic pressure here, which causes the problem of traffic jam.
2. Near Dalit Prerna Sthal:
- This location handles traffic heading towards major locations like Chilla Border, Film City Flyover, Sector 18 and DLF Mall.
- Drivers often change lanes at the last moment, slowing down traffic.
3. Lane division on expressways:
- The expressway has three lanes:
- Right lane: for overtaking.
- Middle lane: for light vehicles.
- Left lane: for heavy vehicles.
- Not following these rules leads to traffic jams and accidents.
Objective of Noida Traffic Police
The main objective of Noida Traffic Police is to:
- Reducing traffic jams.
- Preventing accidents.
- To make transportation easier and faster.
DCP Lakhan Singh Yadav said that the aim of this initiative is to enforce better discipline on the roads. When drivers stay in the designated lane, traffic flow will remain smooth and accidents will reduce.
