The Uttar Pradesh government is emphasizing on preserving the cultural and religious heritage of Mathura and making it more accessible to the devotees coming from within the country and abroad. A special area will be created to showcase the Braj region along the Green Field Expressway. This project will not only make the journey to Mathura-Vrindavan easier, but will also increase its religious and cultural importance.

It will be easy to go to Mathura-Vrindavan

Every day thousands of devotees come to Mathura-Vrindavan to visit Banke Bihari Temple and other holy places.

  • This number increases manifold during festivals and celebrations.
  • Now the government has taken steps to ensure that devotees do not face any difficulty in reaching Mathura and Vrindavan.

Connectivity expansion:

  • Banke Bihari Mandir will be connected to Yamuna Expressway.
  • This road will provide better connectivity not only to Mathura-Vrindavan but also to Faridabad in Haryana.
  • Travel from Delhi-NCR to Mathura-Vrindavan will be faster and more comfortable than before.

Green Field Expressway: Highlights of the project

The Green Field Expressway, which was earlier 101 km long, has now been extended to 102.1 km.

Major changes:

  • The alignment was changed in the meeting of Braj Development Council.
  • Green Field Expressway will be connected with Yamuna Expressway.
  • This will not only make the journey faster, but will also become a major route for devotees and travelers.

Gateway of Vrindavan: New plan

Vrindavan Gateway will be constructed by Yamuna Authority.

major features:

  1. Elevated Road:
    • It will be part of the Green Field Expressway and will be connected to a bridge built on the Yamuna River.
  2. Statue of Lord Krishna and Balram:
    • A 20 meter high statue of Lord Shri Krishna and Balram will be installed at Vrindavan Gateway.
    • This cut will be a major attraction for the devotees.

Expressway will be connected to the loop

A 7 km long road will be built to connect the Green Field Expressway to National Highway-44 and Yamuna Expressway.

  • This expressway will connect Faridabad and the other side of Yamuna.
  • Total length: 24 km.
  • The responsibility of construction will be handled by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Advantages:

  • This route will be very convenient for passengers coming from Delhi, NCR, and Faridabad.

Cable bridge and wide roads on Yamuna

Road and bridge construction has been planned on both sides of the Yamuna river:

  1. Cable Bridge:
    • 21 meters wide.
  2. Wide Roads:
    • 7 km long road on one side of Yamuna.
    • On the other side also there is a 7 km long road.

River Front Development Scheme:

  • Roads and bridges will be constructed on both sides of Yamuna at a cost of approximately Rs 400 crore.
  • Development of river front will boost tourism.

Connection of Banke Bihari Mandir and Green Field Expressway

Dwarkadhish Temple and Banke Bihari Temple will be connected by Green Field Expressway.

  • This will make it very easy for devotees to reach Vrindavan.
  • This scheme will take religious tourism to new heights.
