Champions Trophy 2025: The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches will be played in three Pakistani cities Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore and Dubai under the ‘hybrid model’. The tournament is scheduled to start from February 19. India will play all its matches in the Champions League in Dubai. However, Pakistan is the official host of the tournament. But even before the start of this tournament, a new controversy has arisen.

What is the whole matter?

Actually, the name of the main host of this tournament, Pakistan, will not be on the jersey of the Indian cricket team this time. Regarding which India had allegedly objected to the word Pakistan (name of the host country) printed on the jersey of the Indian team.

In this matter, a PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) official said, ‘BCCI is doing politics in cricket by printing the name of Pakistan on the jersey of the Indian team.’ Earlier, the Indian board had refused to send captain Rohit Sharma to Pakistan for the captains’ meeting for the Champions Trophy. Apart from this, BCCI had earlier refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan.

Many controversies even before the tournament starts

After this, PCB and ICC agreed to organize the tournament under hybrid model. Despite repeated requests from the PCB, the BCCI has not changed its stance of refusing to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Ultimately the Pakistan Board had to accept India’s conditions. However, under the new agreement, PCB will not send the Pakistan team to India for ICC events in future. There is about a month left for the Champions Trophy to start and now a new controversy has arisen. Pakistan has not yet announced its team for the Champions Trophy. The Indian team has been announced.

15-member Indian team for Champions Trophy: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar.
