Music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani shared a note on his Instagram, expressing his disappointment with a singer’s performance at a major event. While Vishal did not name anyone in his post, social media users felt that he took a dig at singer Jasleen Royal, who is getting trolled for her performance at Coldplay’s Mumbai concert. For those unversed, a section of netizens claimed that Jasleen was ‘out of tune’ and a ‘mismatch’ for the concert.
Jasleen, who has been constantly sharing videos and photos of her performance, has not reacted to the trolls yet.
Recently, Vishal took to his Instagram story and wrote, “I’m really sorry, but when you put a basic-to-bad singer in front of a large crowd on a large stage, all you’re doing is showing more people that the individual can’t really sing, and that sadly, systems within labels in India aren’t geared towards really promoting the best we have.”
Without naming anyone, he added, “I’ve just seen some clips, and my gosh… How embarrassing! For the country, the artiste, the public, as well as the scene.”

Vishal’s post went viral within no time and Reddit users stated that he was talking about Jasleen.
“Seems like he is referring to Jasleen Royal’s performance during Coldplay’s concert in Mumbai,” a user wrote. Another commented, “Its harsh but I agree. Clips I’ve seen of Jasleen are quite embarrassing tbh.”
Replying under the comment, a third user wrote, “I attended on 19th and couldn’t wait for her part to get over. She looked absolutely dull and uninterested and at some point it felt like she was just reading the lyrics. It was truly an embarrassment.”
“There are many good Indian rock bands that could have opened,” another comment read.
Jasleen made history as the first Indian artist to open for Coldplay during their highly anticipated concerts in Mumbai. She delivered the opening act on January 18 and 19 at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. She is also slated to open Coldplay’s January 21 concert and their upcoming performances in Ahmedabad.
