Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The principal bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on Monday issued summon to Sagar University registrar to appear in person for the case related to OBC reservation.
Eighty seven cases related to OBC reservation were heard before the division bench. Senior advocate Rameshwar Singh Thakur argued in favour of OBC reservation.
The PIL filed by the political party, Youth for Equality, against OBC reservation was heard by a bench of Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Vivek Jain. Dr Girish Kumar, professor of computer science in Sagar Central University, had filed petition on behalf of Youth for Equality.

The High Court had issued a notice to Sagar University and sought a reply whether being the secretary of a political party while holding the post of professor falls under the category of misconduct.
A notice was sent to the university by the registry of the High Court. The notice has also been served to the university. Despite this, no advocate appeared on behalf of the university.
High Court had asked registrar of Sagar Central University to appear in person for not complying with the order dated December 6, 2024. The next hearing is on January 28.
