A fine of Rs 50 thousand has also been imposed. On August 9, 2024, a 31-year-old female doctor was brutally raped in RG Hospital, Kolkata. First she was raped and then murdered. In this case, the court has sentenced accused Sanjay Rai.

But the family of the deceased has refused to take compensation. It is noteworthy that accused Sanjay Roy has been sentenced to remain in jail for life.
